Martin van der Linden

Over 20 years Martin works in Japan as an architect and owner of Van der Linden Architects Studio. Having vast experience of building projects from scratch to the opening ribbon cut, Martin is going to share his knowledge through simulation of architectural project. You will be tasked to work on a project concept of a building set somewhere in Japan. Then You will face harsh reality of antagonist elements. However, with Martin's guidance and support, You will learn how architectural market, contractors, hiring staff, working with concepts works in Japan.

SKETCHING YOUR WAY THROUGH FREELANCE JUNGLE IN TOKYO

Adrian Hogan

Adrian is a longtime illustrator and freelancer based in Tokyo, he will share his experience and advice regarding building up a successful freelancer's career in Japan while not drawing Anime or Manga. During the workshop participants will simulate a start of a freelancer in the Land of the Rising Sun by drawing a comic book. Through the process, participants will gather valuable knowledge and insights on freelancing in Tokyo from social, cultural and financial perspectives. Drawing is not Your thing? Feel no fear and simply join this workshop - You're advised to take notes, though.

Yielding high potential due to possibilities for greater creative engagement, larger funding, bigger exposure and audiences, co-producing with Japan has remained somewhat a mystery experienced and successfully carried out by only a few pioneers.
